Driving is a luxury many take for granted. It’s one that requires strict attention and a significant amount of responsibility in order to ensure the safety of everyone on the road. It’s important to remember that most drivers are aware of this, but a small fraction tend to either forget or ignore the obligation of being a driver. A Beaumont woman recently had to discover for herself just how serious driving could be when caution is overlooked.

An injury resulting from a car accident where negligence played a role can be hard to deal with. Let us know your story to see if you have a case.

A Claim of Negligence

The woman was driving eastbound on Highway 69 in March of 2014 when the collision with a married couple occurred. No details concerning how the accident happened or the amount of damages to the vehicles was available.

The woman filed the complaint in late December with the Jefferson County District Court against the couple. In it, she claims they were negligent while operating their vehicle. The woman has also claimed that she suffered injury to her shoulders, back and neck. Details of the injuries were also limited.

Along with the claims of negligence in operating their vehicle, the woman is also alleging they failed to maintain control, their speed and their ability to brake in a timely manner. She is seeking damages for past and future medical bills, mental anguish, physical pain and legal fees.
