Lawsuit Filed After Intoxicated Driving Accident

Texas law prohibits anyone from driving while intoxicated, yet many continue to endanger other motorists by doing so. Driving while intoxicated blurs your senses and significantly decreases your reaction time, placing you and other drivers on the path of unnecessary danger. A Galveston County woman became the victim of a drunk and negligent driver and later filed a lawsuit.

Dangerous Roads

According to court records, the Galveston County woman filed the lawsuit against a man who struck her car, injuring her. The record shows the woman was driving southbound on FM 646 when the man, driving on the opposite lane, swerved into her path and collided with her vehicle.

A police investigation discovered the man was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The lawsuit cites the man with negligence after he allegedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic, properly brake and control his vehicle. The woman is seeking an amount above the jurisdictional minimum.
