July Sees Quirky New Laws Take Effect

On July 1, a host of quirky new laws have taken effect across the country. Here are some of the more amusing ones:

  • Illinois – Cab drivers can now charge passengers a $50 vomit clean up fee
  • Indiana – A nepotism law now prohibits government workers from hiring family members
  • Idaho – Law officials can now issue arrest warrants via fax machine
  • Kentucky – A new law delays the payment process for thieves attempting to receive immediate cash for stolen copper at recycling centers
