Intoxicated Driver Charged After Fatal Accident

It’s safe to assume most people will learn from their mistakes and will avoid repeating them. Unfortunately, there are others who will continue to make errors even after they’ve been arrested. A Hays County man, who was previously charged with drunk driving in 2002 and 2005, was charged with intoxication manslaughter after causing a fatal accident in late September of this year.

A Bad Influence

The accident occurred on the night of September 29th when the 37-year-old man veered into the opposite lane of FM 1626 and struck a 60-year-old woman’s vehicle head-on, killing her. Witnesses say they saw the man’s F-150 weave onto the shoulder and cross into the woman’s path. While the man was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police obtained a warrant and a blood sample after they discovered he was under the influence. He now faces intoxication manslaughter charges.
