Driving is one of the greatest luxuries imaginable. We always expect other drivers to take precautions when operating their vehicles, so it comes as a surprise to many whenever a car accident occurs. It can even be nerve-racking if the other person was responsible.

In late December, two Galveston residents filed a lawsuit against the city after one of its employees collided with their vehicle in early 2014.

The Collision

The lawsuit was filed with the Galveston County 56th District Court and alleges that the city employee was responsible for a car accident that occurred in January of 2014.

According to court documents, the two residents were driving behind the employee who was operating a sweeper. He then allegedly reversed, causing a collision. The lawsuit also claims the worker was on the clock at the time and that he reversed without safety.

Although there weren’t many details concerning vehicle damage or possible injuries, the plaintiffs are seeking monetary damages for the accident along with a jury trial.
